Aged Rum Tasting 3rd February 2011

Andrew Ferguson illustrates a point

Thursday 3rd February was bit of a milestone for me: it marked the first tasting I had ever attended, and it suggested that perhaps rum really does have a future when it comes to being seen as a viable alternative to whiskies in Alberta.

  1. There’s fifteen hundred or so rums in the world, and this tasting covered six. I’m hoping there’ll be more, and soon.

Chairs were not the most comfortable, and I felt there could have been more audience participation, but overall, a very enjoyable evening.

  2. As far as possible, keep them coming Lance. Love the “local colour” in the reviews (qc old boy 75-82).

  3. I remember you quite clearly, Cecil. Thanks for the thumbs up. I seem to be the only West Indian doing rum reviews, and while that doesn’t give me any street cred whatsoever, I do like bringing it into the wording wherever I can. A sort of sly nod to the Old Country.

  4. Hi lance!
    Nice web page!
