Pretty self explanatory.  What goods have you got secreted away in your collection?

A few of you are starting to have a few bottles kicking around.  What’s out there?

Lance…what are you sitting on for rum right now?

    Glenmorangie Quinta ruben
    Aberlour 10
    Ardbeg 10

  3. That is confession, not bragging. “My name is Curt…and I have a problem…”

I know Robert is sitting on at least five bottles now too.

  4. BTW…should note…

I also owe Robert a bottle of something malty, as per our hockey pool wager. Think that will put him at 6 bottles.

…and Mr. Surujbally has at least one bottle of whisky I’m hoping for the opportunity to sip from again at some point.

  5. Still have some Pusser’s, the DDL 21 year old, and my usual vat of Appleton V/X. There’s also a bottle of Cruzon that Keenan and I sampled a week or so back that I have not done my due diligence on yet, which is why the review is not up.

  6. Aberlour 10
    Bruichladdich Peat

  7. @Clint

…and that Bruichladdich Peat is nice.

Got a new Peat Monster for you to try one night soon, sir.

  8. Added Connemara Peated Irish last night (thanks to the in-laws), and will be hitting WP this eve with a gift certificate.

Most likely another bottle of the a’bunadh (Batch 27 this time).

  9. Updates at the bottom in bold italic.

  10. Thanks to my lovely bride for a bottle of Laphroaig 18 for an early Father’s Day present. Though I don’t believe it is technically mine for another month, I am a happy boy.

  11. OMG….Just found the Appleton 30-year old … I’m almost afraid to crack the bottle without papal approval. Please God, let this not suck 🙂 (for the price I paid, I *really* hope it doesn’t suck)

Also got one of the last available English Harbour 25s left for sale in Canada (the bottling is now almost totally sold out).

My wife is going to kill me when she sees this bill.

    Report on Appleton to follow

  12. Edited in first comment.

  13. Woohoo!

    Octomore 1.1 – Peated at 131ppm. What a monster.

Should I open it or save it for a special occasion?

    • You owe it to your similarly misguided Scottish acolytes to open the bottle and sample it at the earliest available opportunity. That way you can tell if you’ve been had, or not.

  14. wife just purchased Highland Park 10 (1 litre bottle!!) and Bushmills Black Bush (also 1 litre) for me at a duty free in Houston.

The Highland Park is fantastic as we all know but the Black Bush was quite a nice suprise!

  15. Great…so can we expect a review from you?

  16. HP12 is awesome. Review is already up on the site here.

Black Bush is great (ahem…the whiskey, boys…the whiskey). That one I have not had enough of to write about. Pat is becoming quite the sipper and diligent studier of his dram. I see him noting stuff all the time. Look forward to hearing his thoughts on the Bushmills.

  17. Well, since this still seems active and I’ve just found the site (and it’s nice to know there are other aficionados close to the Rockies!)

    Aberlour 10
    Balvenie 12 Doublewood
    Bowmore 12
    Bruichladdich Waves
    Glenlivet 18
    Lagavulin 16
    Laphroaig Quarter Cask
    Talisker 10

    and a (somewhat) collectible

    Amrut 7 Ind. Bottling

Slowly filling out the cabinet. So many more to go!

    • Oh this is active all right (in fact, extremely so), and I hope and wait in vain for the first rummy to log on 🙂

    • Hey, Rafal! Welcome, sir. Where abouts are ya?

I have a bottle of the Amrut SM, and Clint swears the Amrut Fusion is the second coming. Have you tried that bottle you have, or are you holding on to it?

Tried Waves last weekend. Been through seven Bruichladdichs thus far, and that was probably my second favorite (beyond the Links 16).

That being said…I have yet to open my Octomore. 😉
